Synopsis

We were excited about the project, particularly because it was set UNDERWATER. The client had approached us to create a trailer for a short film inspired by his compelling book. The story conveyed a heartfelt social message about the importance of protecting marine life and teaching children how to care for the oceans. This added a meaningful dimension to the project, making it not only visually engaging but also socially impactful.

Highlights

Character Design : An exciting part of this project was our main character, "DOLPHIN DUDE." This dolphin swims like a real dolphin but also acts like a human. To enhance the experience, we designed two versions: one for swimming and another for talking. While each design has its strengths, you won’t be able to tell the difference in the video because they are blended seamlessly.

Underwater Look/Dev : We wouldn’t necessarily have called the project challenging, it certainly presented some interesting aspects! We needed to conduct research to understand the visual elements of an underwater environment. Key components considered included lighting, caustics, bubbles, underwater haze, and the sand on the ocean floor. These elements played a crucial role in bringing the project to life.

Sound design and voiceover : Those were vital components of the project, so we enlisted professionals to help bring the vision to life. The team conducted a casting process for the voice of the main character and selected the perfect music to complement the visuals. This added an exciting layer to the project, enhancing the overall storytelling experience.
